PSA: Use Trigger Warnings

People legitimately suffer mental illnesses as a result of experiencing trauma. Your posts on Facebook can have a tangible negative impact on people's health - REAL LIVE ACTUAL HEALTH - when you post about rape, human trafficking, miscarriages, war, natural disasters, etc and don't give some sort of heads up that you plan to discuss such issues in that same post or when you post an image depicting it.

Mental health conditions and symptoms such as anxiety, loss of sense of self-worth, nightmares, flashbacks, and suicidal ideation are real. Whether you like it or not, whether you admit it or not, popping content on people without warning will make them ill. So just as you wouldn't spray up a room with air freshener when a person with asthma is there, don't post triggering content without a warning.

It is about respect and common decency.
